The Donut

Hi-Tech Foam is now available through DogLeggs to make a custom donut for your dog’s elbow ulcer. This method will also work if Front King 1.5" Rubber Tubular Pipe Insulation
s used.

The following is our suggested method for creating a donut.

This process involves an open flame and VERY hot utensils, great caution MUST be used when handling the tools during and after the hole is cut. This method is the simplest and most efficient way to create a hole in the Hi-Tech foam.

1.)  Purchase a Pastry Cutter larger than the outer outer margin (edge) of the ulcer.

2.)  To create a donut for your pup’s elbow assemble the following items next to your stove (yes your stove):

1 Pastry Cutter in appropriate size
            (cannot be used for cooking or with food once it has been used to cut the foam).
1 Pair of Kitchen Tongs
A heat safe surface – a pyrex pie pan works well

3.)  Using the tongs to hold the Pastry Cutter, hold the Pastry Cutter over the flame until the Pastry Cutter is well heated. DO NOT HOLD PASTRY CUTTER WITH HANDS OR TOUCH WITH YOUR HANDS DURING AND AFTER PROCESS!

4.) Once the cutter is heated through, move it over to the foam and press down through the center of the foam, creating a the hole.  Some pressure will be needed to push Pastry Cutter through foam.

Carefully sit HOT Pastry Cutter and tongs on a heat safe surface and do not handle until both are completely cooled.  The Pastry Cutter cannot be used with food once it has been used to cut the foam.

• Please supervise your animal during the use of this product particularly during the initial introduction period of use.
• This product must be removed at least once a day and inspected for cleanliness and wear.
• You must thoroughly inspect your animal at least once a day for any signs of irritation due to the use of this product and if found you must immediately discontinue use and contact either DogLeggs or your veterinary professional.
• If the product becomes soiled it should be washed in accordance with the care instructions. Particular attention should be paid if this product is worn over an open wound.
• To provide maximum performance and longevity of the product it is recommended that the product be washed at least once every week.
• If the product shows excessive ware or is torn, chewed or otherwise modified, please discontinue use and contact DogLeggs to purchase a replacement.

Return Policy

• DogLeggs products are custom medical products and we have a very strict return policy for the health and safety of all the animals for which we provide products. As a provider of custom medical products that are typically prescribed or recommended by veterinary professional, we do not accept returns.
• In cases where there is an established manufacturing defect, we will only replace or remake or repair the product, once it has been reviewed by DogLeggs. Any product returned for review or repair must be returned washed and clean. If the product is returned without washing and cleaning, a $35.00 cleaning fee will be charged.
• Although our products have a history of outstanding efficacy, there is not a 100% success rate. In the cases where one of our products does not result in the desired effect we are glad to work with any customer and their veterinary professionals to try and advise other solution options, including ones from other vendors, that may provide the desired result.
