The Ups and Downs of DogLeggs' New Pricing
DogLeggs has always been committed and strives to provide the highest quality, most effective veterinary coverage solutions with outstanding customer service at very reasonable prices. Recent changes to our production and material costs have allowed us to review our current prices and we have repriced products in two of our most popular product groups, the Surgi-Sox Animal Bandaging System and Adjustable DogLeggs.
We are happy to announce that components of the Surgi-Sox Animal Bandaging System which includes the Surgi-Sox Torso, Surgi-Sox Leggings and Surgi-Sox Aural Compression Bandage will decrease in price. The Surgi-Sox Aural Compression Bandage retail price was already adjusted earlier this year and is now set at $49.50, a decrease of about 20%. We are now also able to reduce the price for most sizes of the Surgi-Sox Torso and Surgi-Sox Leggings. These new prices are a result of conversion from small quantity manufacture at DogLeggs to our quantity-manufacturing partner in York PA.
DogLeggs has maintained the retail price of Standard Length Adjustable DogLeggs for more than 4 years. However, due to further increases in the cost of materials, shipping and other factors, it is now necessary to pass along some of these increases. The new retail price for Standard Length Adjustable DogLeggs is$142.50; Full Length Adjustable DogLeggs is $162.50 and DogLeggs for Amputees is $162.50. The DogLeggs' Shoulder Stabilization System, a system based off of the Adjustable DogLeggs, also has a new price of $192.50.
Veterinary professionals should contact DogLeggs for availability and pricing from our distributors and revised direct to professional discount schedule. (See our Resources page for a list of our distributors).
All of us at DogLeggs thank our loyal customers for their support over the last 11 years and look forward to continuing to provide the most innovative and effective coverage solutions to the veterinary community and the clients they serve.
DogLeggs' UK Tour
On March 30th Schön and John-Henry Gross, co-founders of DogLeggs, boarded a flight to Hethrow Airport to attend the 2011 British Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress (BSAVA) and to visit Fitzpatrick Referrals, the world renown orthopedic and neurosurgery clinic of Noel Fitzpatrick who is also the star of BBC's documentary television series, The Bionic Vet.At BSAVA, DogLeggs' products for issues such as hygroma, decubital ulcer, shoulder and hip luxation, lick wounds, ear hematomas and incision/wound coverage were displayed in the Veterinary Instrumentation (VI) booth. Veterinary Instrumentation is the leader for providing innovative products to the UK's veterinary market and is the DogLeggs' distributor in the UK. Visitors to the VI booth were excited to learn about DogLeggs' coverage solution products. There was particular interest in the new DogLeggs' Surgi-Sox Aural Compression Bandage that has revolutionized bandaging for aural (ear) hematomas.
Aural hematoma is a collection of blood within the cartilage plate of the ear and the skin (blood blister) usually arising from scratching and head shaking.Veterinary rehabilitation, called veterinary physiotherapy in the UK, is growing, similar to here in the US. The veterinary physiotherapists attending the meeting were thrilled that more rehabilitative products, including DogLeggs' products, are now available in their country. Schön and John-Henry also met with the director of the Canine Hydrotherapy Association (CHA). CHA is a membership organization that serves as a certifying authority for canine hydrothearpy in the UK. CHA is reviewing the use of the DogLeggs' Swim Snood to prevent head shaking during hydrotherapy.Schön and John-Henry had a great time! They enjoyed meeting so many new DogLeggs' enthusiasts and who wouldn't enjoy a conference that serves Guinness stout on the show floor!

The visit to Fitzpatrick Referrals (pictured above) was also very exciting. This facility is one of the most impressive veterinary facilities in the world. It is worth your time to take their video tour if you can't go in person. Schön and John-Henry were given an extensive tour of the facility by the Veterinary Rehabilitation Center Manager, Juliet Barker and then met with Ms. Barker and Fiona Doubleday, Chartered Physiotherapist, to review the complete DogLeggs' product line and establish a process for working together on appropriate cases. The Fitzpatrick team focused on DogLeggs' products for angular limb deformity, joint hyperextension, joint laxity, joint luxation and osteoarthritis. In addition, Dr. Fitzpatrick spoke with Schön and John-Henry about additional coverage and supportive needs for his veterinary patients and all agreed to work together to develop and test new products to address these needs. DogLeggs' looks forward to a close working relationship with the Fitzpatrick Referral team!
The "DogLeggs' UK Tour" was a great success. DogLeggs developed great relationships with the UK veterinary community, launched DogLeggs products in the UK with a wonderful distributor, Veterinary Instrumentation, and deepened our working relationship with another world-class thought leader in veterinary medicine.
