DogLeggs at AVMA and IAVRPT Meetings

As part of a enhanced marketing program to get DogLeggs' product and services out to more people in the veterinary community, last month we attended and exhibited at two major conferences. The first conference was the 147th American Veterinary Medical Association Annual Convention held in Atlanta GA. Atlanta lived up to its nickname, "Hotlanta" with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees (actual temp!) most days. And interest in DogLeggs' products was just as hot both at the presentations and in our booth!

Many vets and techs came to the booth to tell stories of hygromas and decubital ulcers cured using the Standard Adjustable DogLeggs and we are always thrilled to have a chance to hear their stories face to face. The DogLeggs' Shoulder Stabilization System was featured in the "wet lab" on Canine Orthopedic Diagnostics and in several other educational lectures at the AVMA Convention.

The feedback we received on the DogLeggs' Carpal Support was great! The revolutionary design not only provides a better fit around the carpal joint giving better support, it also reduces the risks of  "rub sores" that have resulted from use of other products on the market.

The International Association of Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy held its 6th Symposium at Auburn University and DogLeggs, a long time supporter of this growing field in veterinary medicine, was a major sponsor.

We were happy to see many professional vets, techs and rehab therapist friends from all over the world and they were also thrilled to tell us of the many cases they had successfully treated with various DogLeggs' therapeutic and rehabilitative products. There was one case, Rosie the fawn (deer) that was treated by Dr. Appel, a veterinarian in FL, in which Full Length Adjustable DogLeggs were used to rehabilitate the fawn after she and her mom were attacked by a dog shortly after Rosie's birth. There will be more details on this case in a future article on this website.

Just like at the AVMA Convention, various DogLeggs' products, including the DogLeggs' Shoulder Stabilization System, Carpal and Tarsal Supports and Ehmer and Velpeau Slings, were mentioned in several lectures at the IAVRPT Symposium.

DogLeggs' founder Schon Gross presented an overview of DogLeggs products and design issues for evaluating coverage solutions to a group of faculty and staff of the Auburn University Veterinary School. DogLeggs was asked to return in February to present similar lecture materials. DogLeggs will be visiting a number of veterinary schools during the 2011 school year to perform similar presentation. If you are a member of a veterinary school and would like DogLeggs to present at your institution, please contact John-Henry Gross at jhgross@dogleggs.com.

We thank all of the veterinary professionals that have recommended and supported DogLeggs and look forward to seeing you at the various upcoming conferences.
