Tarsal Support How To Measure Order Tarsal Support

Tarsal Support

Supportive cushioned protection for dog’s hock, available with removable OrthoPlast custom fit splint

The DogLeggs' Tarsal Support is similar to our Hock Sock, however, covers more of the leg, from approximately 3" above the point of the hock to the top of paw (medium to large dogs). If there is a need for the DogLeggs’ Tarsal Support to extend higher than 3” above the hock and below the knee (stifle joint) for additional support, please call DogLeggs for modified measuring instructions and pricing.

The Tarsal Support is designed as a support rather than just a coverage solution as our Hock Sock is. The Tarsal Support can be used either alone or further support, the addition of a low-temp moldable plastic splint that attaches to the outside of the Tarsal Support (by prescription only and ships only to veterinary or rehab clinic) can be provided.

Why do we require a prescription?

Because the product will affect the movement, gait and joint mobility of the animal, a veterinarian must be an active partner with DogLeggs and the animal's caretaker, in the animal's healing.

A prescription, can be as simple as a phone call from the veterinarian or physical therapist, a fax or an email detailing patient's first and last name, breed, age, diagnosis (specific), requirement for specific product.

Why do we ask the health questions?

Each of the conditions we ask about create an environment where the skin of the animal breaks down quickly if rubbed by a product. The answers affect our choice of appropriate product design and size of product.
