| Tellington Touch® is a method based on circular movements of the fingers and hands all over the body. The intent of the Tellington Touch is to activate the function of the cells and awaken cellular intelligence - a little like "turning on the electric lights of the body." The Touch is done on the entire body, and each circular Touch is complete within itself. Therefore it is not necessary to understand anatomy to be successful in speeding up the healing of injuries or ailments, or changing undesirable habits or behavior.

What is the Tellington Touch for Dogs, Cats and Other Animals? The Tellington Touch is a specialized approach to the care and training of our animal companions. Developed by internationally recognized animal expert, Linda Tellington-Jones, this method based on cooperation and respect offers a positive approach to training, can improve performance and health and presents solutions to common behavioral and physical problems. It also helps establish a deeper rapport between humans and animals through increased understanding and more effective communication. Using a combination of specific touches, lifts, and movement exercises, Tellington Touch helps to release tension and increase body awareness. This allows the animal to be handled without provoking typical fear responses. The animal can then more easily learn new and more appropriate behaviors. By using the Tellington Touch and a variety of other tools, like the Confidence Course, you can assist the animal in experiencing self-confidence in previously frightening situations. Even the most difficult problems are often eliminated. You can also learn how to apply the Tellington Touch to assist with recovery from illness or injury, or just enhance the quality of your animal's life. This gentle method is currently being used by animal owners, trainers, breeders, veterinarians, zoo personnel and shelter workers in several countries. There are many certified practitioners teaching Tellington Touch around the world who can show you how to help you with your dog, cat or other pet. |

"Schon has made a major difference in the health and well-being of my two 13 year-old dogs, Tiger a Maltese and Tiki a Yorkshire Terrier. Combined with acupuncture, Tiger has avoided surgery on his back legs. After Tellington Touch, he is active and alert. For Tiki, Tellington Touch has helped her with serious digestive problems. After working with Schon, her coat is brighter and her energy level higher. Both Tiki and Tiger look forward to working with Schon, who is a true friend and healer of animals." |

My Thoughts on T-Touch with Schon I've been working with Schon now for almost a year. We work every week — she is a great T Touch Practitioner! I feel so much better after my session and look forward to it every week!! We work my tough areas as I have arthritis and had two knee surgeries probably 5 years ago. She really makes me feel great. Sometimes after playing with my friends I am limping a little and it gets hard to get up and down but since I've been working with Schon, I truly feel better. My walk is straighter and most times I do not limp. My mom gets assignments from Schon to do T Touches during the week but she isn't as good as the real thing. My sisters (2 calico cats) and my brother (Frank) are so jealous when she comes. I get all her attention and she is working me all over! They try to steal the scene and get a few touches in too but it's my time! I truly believe working with Schon for a year has made me not feel my 10 years! I'm looking a little grayer but I have good spunk! Thank you Schon! |

Shenandoah really wants to thank Schon for the TTouch lessons and his many walks in Reston Town Center. He had become very nervous about noises and people, after the TTouch he became very relaxed and much better in the show ring. Many thanks to such a helpful and caring person. Fran C., Luray, VA |

The Story of Smudge and the Humane Society of Harford County MD. Smudge, a black chow mix, was extremely shy and fearfully defensive when he arrived at the shelter. No one could touch him even after several days of settling in. We questioned whether or not he would be adoptable. Because of our philosophy of giving the animal every chance and the fact that Schon would be visiting in a few days, we held onto to Smudge. Schon evaluated him, she taught us some techniques to try with him. After learning from Schon, our own Laura Hostetter worked with Smudge. Within a week he was a new dog. His confidence grew, he learn to trust and enjoy being with people. Laura continued to work with him and Smudge blossomed in every way. He was went to a foster home, where he also thrived. When he came back to the shelter, he was only here for a short time before finding his forever home. TTouch, Laura and the foster program saved Smudge’s life. Tammy Zaluzney, Director |

Becca I have known Schon Gross for nearly two years. She is well known in the I met Schon while looking for a source for the raw meat food my German Shepherd Dog, Becka, must have to thrive. Becka had been diagnosed with colitis, and despite a number of veterinarians trying to figure out why she couldn't process one kibble diet after another, the highly-successful answer was in the raw meat option. Becka is a high-drive Shepherd (fabulous working-line pedigree, bred for Schutzhund work) with other issues. When acquired from a miserable kennel at the age of 13 months, she was tail-chasing to distraction. Consultations with a number of doctors led to a diagnosis of lumbo-sacral disease. At the age of 2, she had back surgery to attempt to correct the problem. After months of crate rest, she appeared to be significantly improved; however, the tail chasing resumed in earnest, so the question was: pain or behavior? Regardless, a remedy was called for, and here came Schon to the rescue! Through a number of sessions of T-Touch, we were able to help Becka calm herself. Also, thanks to Schon, Becka was introduced to the Anxiety Wrap, which was just terrific! This wrap is like a big body hug for a dog, and while often used for dogs scared of thunderstorms or with other anxiety disorders, it was the perfect prescription for the high-energy Becka. The dog that constantly eyed and chased her tail now had a chance to relax. Well, the story is not quite over. It turns out that Becka had mutilated her tail so many hundreds of times that it eventually had to be removed. (There's a cute 5" stump!) After many conversations with Schon about our fears that Becka would mangle her stump when he Elizabethan collar came off, she came up with a solution that works to this day. Using a Halti and a harness, we taught her to "leave it"! in one evening (and some So, Schon, I have many thanks to send your way. You have always listened, and you have ALWAYS come up with a new way of looking at things, and you have displayed a true interest in helping find a Marilyn L., Falls Church, VA |
