In the past 7 years more than 20,000 pairs of DogLeggs have been created for dogs of all sizes, from 3 pound Chihuahuas to 230 pound Mastiffs...as well as a few cats, a lamb and even a horse or two!

Area of Coverage: Elbow

Standard Length Adjustable DogLeggs provides coverage, padding and protection for the elbows. It is primarily used to treat and prevent elbow hygromas. It is also commonly used to treat decubital ulcers, pressure sores, calluses, and elbow arthritis. For elbow hygromas, use of DogLeggs alone can be curative, eliminating the risk of complications associated with draining or surgery. For animals suffering from elbow arthritis, the padding offers protection as well as reflecting body heat back to the joint, improving comfort and mobility.

Standard Length Adjustable DogLeggs accommodates a donut and/or light bandage if needed for open wounds. A feminine light days napkin can also be inserted as a dressing for wounds. This provides a soft interface for wounds, absorbs discharge and can be easily changed as needed.

For animals suffering from lick granulomas, the Standard Length Adjustable DogLeggs can offer coverage of the affected area but it alone is unlikely to address the underlying cause for the chronic licking. Successful treatment requires a multi-faceted approach. Please see our white paper, Lick Granuloma, which discusses the importance of a multi-faceted approach. Standard Length Adjustable DogLeggs are easy to apply and offers superior comfort for the animal. It is comprised of two sleeves, one for each limb, and a chest strap. The sleeves attach to each other over the back, suspending the elbow cuffs. The elbow cuffs enclose the elbows and secure with a hook and loop fastening system. This construction provides three-way adjustability; over the back, around each elbow and just below the elbow. The chest strap attaches to each sleeve and prevents the DogLeggs from sliding down the animal's back when sitting. In breeds with a short neck, a second strap may be applied behind the forelimbs to prevent the DogLeggs from sliding forward when the animal is bending the head toward the ground.

For juvenile animals we provide extension pieces to allow the product to "grow" with the animal.

Product Construction: Standard Length Adjustable DogLeggs is constructed from a 3-dimensional fleece-faced, highly breathable, 4-way stretch textile with wicking properties. This material allows air to circulate underneath. The elbow padding also reflects body heat back to the joint keeping it warm. The elbow cuffs contain padding sufficient for giant breed dogs. Hook and loop fastening systems are used for adjustment and attachments. The product is machine washable.
