Custom Design - In Progress
HorseGear

Custom design work in progress for HorseGear.  We are very lucky to have available to us a wide range of animals to test new designs on. Because each species has unique anatomy, whether it be a dog or a cat, goat or a bunny.  DogLeggs has been asked over the years to make custom products for many species, requiring access to and knowledge of each species anatomy, movement and unique needs.

In this case DogLeggs was asked to develop a pair of DogLeggs for JJ, the horse, in California who developed a shoe boil...similar swelling to a hygroma in dogs.  In order to refine the design, we visited Shadow Dance Farm, Leesburg, VA to test and refine the design on one of their horses, Caleb, a Belgian Draft Horse-Trakehner -Quarter Horse cross. Christine, DogLeggs' president Schon Gross' daughter (in the photo leading Caleb) walked and trotted Caleb while he wore the prototype, adjustments were made and the final garment manufactured and shipped to California.

Unique Uses
JJ, Rolling Hills Estate, CA

JJ the horse developed a shoe boil due to the way he lays in his stall. DogLeggs made a pair of DogLeggs we are calling HorseGear for JJ. We are waiting for photos of JJ sporting his new fashion statement. We have included a couple of photos of the finished product just before we shipped it off to California.

Custom Products
Chanel - NY ASPCA

As part of our goal to solve unique challenges, DogLeggs developed a wardrobe of comfortable easy on shirts for Chanel in the Fall of 2003 through Spring of 2004.

DogLeggs made special shirts for Chanel. The NY ASPCA believed Chanel was approximately 14 years old when they rescued him. Chanel was deformed from years of confinement in a metal cage too small for him and his coat was very thin. The Herndon family who adopted Chanel called DogLeggs and asked if we could help with garments to make Chanel more comfortable.

All of Chanel's shirts had velcro down the back so they
could be slipped onto his legs and fastened down the center back. We created a set of shirts for Chanel to wear...as you can see he played and slept with his shirts on. Chanel enjoyed a full life with his new family, unfortunately, fell quite ill and in Spring of 2004 Chanel lost his life.

The episode detailing Chanel's and his housemates rescue continues to run on The Animal Planet Chanel, Animal Cops, NY ASPCA.
